Tidy Cats comes in 35 lb bags almost everywhere, and the Free & Clean version is unscented. It costs about $0.44 per pound and $0.39 a day. Its clumps are softer than the other clays here, which shortens how long a bag lasts.
Frisco was the cheapest per pound in our tests, at about $0.33 for 40 lb. It also had the most dust and weakest clumps of 17 litters tested. It isn’t sold on Amazon, so I haven’t linked it.
Is Bulk Always Cheaper?
Per pound, usually. Per day, not always. The cheapest bulk bag isn’t automatically the best value, because clump strength and dust affect how fast you use it. A bag with soft clumps sends more clean litter to the trash with each scoop.
